Full Denture, Partial Denture, Flexi denture

If you’ve lost a few or all your natural teeth, partial or full dentures can replace your missing tooth and enhance your smile and your chewing ability.

When you have tooth loss, Neem Dental Clinic can give you back your charming smile by adopting a Partial Denture or Full Denture treatment plan that matches your preferences both financially and aesthetically.

Benefits of complete and partial dentures include enhanced aesthetic look, improved chewing ability, improved speech, and enhanced oral health. The tooth component of the denture is made up of ceramic material to ensure that they are durable. The bottom part of the denture features an acrylic which fits perfectly over the gums.

Full Denture

When all of your lower or upper teeth are missing, a complete denture is a fantastic solution  to replacing them. The starting point in crafting a full denture is to take impressions. An exact model of your mouth is crafted from these impressions, and the lab applies this model to create the denture footing.

Partial Denture

When several teeth in an arch are missing, a partial denture is an effective solution to replacing them. Partials are extractable devices that are held in place by clasps that fit around a few of the remaining teeth.

Flexi Denture

Flexible dentures are an alternative to the traditional metal-based dentures. They don’t involve rock-hard attachments to the remaining natural teeth, offer a much better fit and look very natural. The appeal of flexi denture related to their better design, fit, and materials. Also, they are made faster when compared with traditional dentures, and also the nylon resin will never break

What is Air-Flow?

Air-Flow is a professional stain removal system that tackles stubborn stains, which are difficult to remove with normal teeth whitening methods.

Is it right for me?

Air-Flow treatment is for anyone looking for a brighter, whiter smile. From light staining to more severe stains; Air-Flow significantly improves tooth brightness, giving you a noticeably, sparkling, healthy mouth, in an instant.

How does it work?

Using a special powder, air, and a gentle jet stream of water; Air-Flow gently and painlessly removes surface stains caused by tobacco, food and drink. In just one appointment, you will immediately see and feel the difference.

What are the causes of teeth staining?

Typically, teeth stains affect the surface of the teeth and once severe, cannot always be removed with brushing alone. These surface stains can be caused by smoking, coffee, tea, red wine and eating foods that contain colourants. Air-Flow removes surface stains easily, resulting in a brighter, whiter smile.  Sometimes, discolouration occurs on a deeper level. This can result from the use of certain medications, or a genetic susceptibility to darker teeth. A combination of teeth whitening and Air-Flow treatment provides dramatic results; resulting in a smile which can be several shades lighter.

Airflow Stain Removal in Harrow

Erase the stains from your teeth and enjoy the feeling of a healthy, plaque-free mouth with Airflow Stain Removal system.

In less than 30 minutes, your teeth will be completely rejuvenated by this advanced cleaning system which brightens your smile and freshens your breath.

At Neem Dental Clinic we have invested in this cleaning system to ensure our patients benefit from the latest in dental technology.

While traditional cleaning methods remove plaque from the tooth’s surface and gum-line, the Airflow cleaning system also eradicates stains and leaves teeth noticeably brighter.

The system uses a jet of water, compressed air, and fine powder particles to clean the teeth and remove staining. No instruments are used on the tooth’s surface, doing away with the ‘scaling and polishing’ technique that can cause discomfort or sensitivity.

A smile makeover with Teeth Whitening

It’s easy to see why teeth whitening has become such a popular treatment in the last few years. Having sparkling white teeth looks and feels amazing! Teeth whitening can transform the appearance of your teeth and update your entire appearance. Professional teeth whitening can instantly boost your confidence and make you feel great.

Teeth naturally become discoloured over time. They get darker with age as well as through the food and drink that we consume. Smoking can quickly stain and discolour teeth too. Teeth whitening can swiftly, painlessly and affordably bring back the sparkle.

Teeth whitening in Harrow

At Neem Dental Clinic Harrow, we recommend that you only get your teeth whitened with treatment that has been overseen by your dentist. Teeth whitening kits that you buy online or over the counter can be risky to the health of your teeth and gums as well as your general health.

Teeth whitening at home

We make you unique teeth whitening trays which fit only your teeth. You then wear these trays for a set amount of time at home and they are filled with a special teeth whitening gel that has been prescribed by our dentists. We use two brands for this type of treatment – Boutique whitening and Pola whitening.

With This Week Promising To Be A ‘Scorcher’, Our Neem Dentists, Harrow/Wembley Offer Some Timely Advice.

If the weather reports are anywhere near accurate, this week we are likely to see temperatures reaching 30 degrees and possibly beyond. These temperatures are more typical of places like Rome and Athens than Harrow / Wembley!

We shouldn’t complain though given the unreliability of the British weather, but these temperatures don’t come without risks and we need to protect our teeth and gums when the weather gets hot.

Below, we offer our patients some basic but useful tips.

1 – Don’t use the weather to skip your dental appointment. If you have an appointment made for a check-up at Neem Dental Clinic, Harrow, please keep it. Postponing it until it cools down may result in a longer delay than you intend. We will do our best to see you as soon as we can when you come, so that you can get back out in the sun.

2 – Stay well hydrated. It is easy to become dehydrated in the hot weather and this is bad for our general health but also for our gums. Gum disease is more likely to be present in people with a dry mouth so try to drink plenty of water throughout the day.

3 – Curb those World Cup celebrations – beer is OK in moderation, but a combination of hot weather and a Euro Cup means that some people will drink a lot more than usual. The risks of accidents rise when this happens, and, as we know, alcohol also causes a dry mouth (see above).

4 – Remember to brush – The heat can be draining, especially if it is also humid. Tiredness can then easily cause us to skip brushing our teeth at night before we go to bed because we are ‘too tired’. You should never be too tired to brush your teeth; it only takes a few minutes and is the most essential thing you can do to avoid tooth decay.

5 – Restrict your ice creams – As well as beer, the sale of ice creams and soft drinks tend to rise during the hotter weather. We all know that these are high in sugar and will damage our teeth if eaten and drunk in excess. Try to replace soft drinks with water as much as you can and keep the number of ice creams down to a sensible level. If you notice, whilst eating ice cream or drinking anything really cold, that your teeth feel really sensitive, you could have damaged your teeth; so please make an appointment at our Neem dental clinic if you notice this.

By all means, do enjoy this rare heatwave and have a good time, but don’t forget that your teeth could suffer if you don’t take sufficient care.

Following the above guidelines is a good start, along with common sense of course. If you have any problems with your teeth during the hot weather, or at any time, please call the Neem Dental Clinic, Harrow for an appointment on 020 8423 2523.

Boutique Whitening Gels

Kits are made up of either hydrogen peroxide, carbamide peroxide, or a blend of the two.

Hydrogen peroxide is a potent oxidizing agent. The whitening action is a result of oxygen free radicals that oxidize larger pigment molecules into smaller, less visible molecules.

By the European Directive dental professionals are only permitted to sell products that contain a maximum of 6% hydrogen peroxide. Over-the-counter products that do not require the supervision of a dental professional may contain only 0.01% hydrogen peroxide. These products are ineffective in whitening the teeth as the concentration of peroxide is too low.

Carbamide peroxide is hydrogen peroxide compounded with urea. Urea helps stabilise the formula giving carbamide peroxide a more predictable and longer shelf life than hydrogen peroxide alone.

By the European Directive, dental professionals can prescribe up to 16% carbamide peroxide. In the presence of water, carbamide peroxide degrades into urea and hydrogen peroxide. Any given volume of carbamide peroxide will yield 35% volume of hydrogen peroxide when it breaks down.

The difference between hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide

A notable difference between hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide is the rate of breakdown, and therefore, the rate of release of oxygen ions. Carbamide peroxide is a more stable molecule and breaks down more slowly than hydrogen peroxide. Carbamide releases about 50% of its peroxide in the first 2 to 4 hours, then the remainder over the next 2 to 6 hours. Hydrogen peroxide breaks down almost immediately, releasing its peroxides entirely within the first hour. It is thought that due to this relatively concentrated bombardment of peroxides on the pulp, hydrogen peroxide produces more sensitivity than carbamide peroxide of a comparable concentration.
