Freshen, Brighten and Protect Your Smile with Airflow Treatment

Are you concerned about gum disease?

Do you want a brighter, healthier smile?

Do you love that clean teeth feeling?

The good news is that we can help.

At Neem Dental Clinic, we offer a game changing guided biofilm treatment called Airflow EMS prophylaxis.

The advantage of this is that this new Airflow teeth cleaning treatment will remove stains on your teeth, giving you a brighter and healthier smile that feels cleaner than ever before.

What is Airflow EMS therapy?

Airflow therapy is a hygiene treatment that removes persistent stains on your teeth, plaque and discolouration using a combination of water, compressed air and fine powder particles. These three components are combined in a high-powered jet which gently removes stains from your teeth including hard to reach areas as well as biofilm from above and below the gum line. Dental plaque is a biofilm of harmful bacteria that grows on surfaces within the mouth.

The innovative spray technology can access all those hard to reach areas  It effectively removes the damaging biofilm that develops above and below the gum to improve your oral health and help you achieve a brighter smile. Airflow therapy can remove this painlessly and prevent it becoming harmful for up to 90 days

What sort of stains can Airflow polishing remove?

The types of stains that can be removed are ones caused by coffee, tea, tobacco and red wine. The Airflow EMS system is also capable of removing stains caused by genetic susceptibility to darker teeth, additionally it can remove stains that can be caused by medicine.

Who is Airflow treatment suitable for?

Airflow treatment can be repeated regularly and is suitable for both adults and children. It is ideal for removing biofilm, stains and young calculus on natural teeth, restorations, implants, hypersensitive patients, orthodontic patients and recall appointments with the ability to reach hard to reach areas with precision.

One Airflow session can get rid of all the plaque and discoloration that those habits have left behind.

Airflow treatment is not only a great way to keep on top of your dental hygiene and oral health, but it is also the best treatment available today for treating and managing gum ( periodontal) disease. Additionally, it is also great for a quick fix for special occasions such as weddings, holidays and job interviews.

What are the main benefits of Airflow treatment?

  • It can remove a heavy build-up of plaque faster and more easily than a scale and polish
  • Pain- free treatment
  • It can remove stains on your teeth
  • It also reaches into periodontal pockets to eliminate bacteria that can cause significant dental problems
  • Prevents caries, gingivitis and periodontitis (gum disease)

Your New ‘Smile in A Day’ With Composite Bonding

When some people consider making cosmetic dental improvements to their teeth, they assume this will be an expensive, painful and drawn out process requiring lots of visits to the dentist. However, thanks to advancements in dental techniques and materials, the Neem Dental Clinic, Harrow is able to offer a ‘new smile in a day’ using composite bonding to help improve the colour, shape, spacing and overall appearance of your teeth.

This provides the ideal solution for those wanting fast, effective and instant results without the need for multiple appointments or painful, costly treatments.

Your New ‘Smile in A Day’ With Composite Bonding

What Is Composite Bonding?

Composite bonding is an advanced dental technique that can be utilised to repair cracked, chipped or discoloured teeth, as well as closing gaps or helping to build up broken down or shorter teeth.

The bonding material used is a tooth coloured composite resin that is applied to the existing teeth and then expertly moulded by a skilled dental clinician to correct imperfections.

Who Can Benefit From Composite Bonding?

Once the planning stages and whitening have been completed, composite bonding provides a simple and painless solution, which allows us to give patients a beautiful smile makeover – and an instant confidence boost – in just one session.

This innovative dental procedure is minimally invasive making it suitable for even the most nervous of patients and can be used to help correct a wide range of cosmetic dental issues including;

  • Cracks – helps to prevent cracks from extending further as well as minimising their appearance and any discolouration that may have happened as a result.
  • Chips – can be restored to avoid further damage and create an even, flawless surface.
  • Gaps – building outwards helps to close the space between teeth.
  • Misshapen teeth – unevenly shaped, mismatched or oddly sized teeth can be added to and shaped to blend in seamlessly with the teeth around them.
  • Discolouration – improves the appearance of stained teeth for a whiter smile
  • Exposed roots – can be used to add protection to exposed root surfaces which helps prevent painful sensitivity.

What Does The Composite Bonding Procedure Involve?

The specifics of the procedure will depend on your individual dental needs, the amount of bonding that is being carried out and the types of flaws that are being corrected.

Firstly, your dentist will colour match the composite resin to your teeth in order to deliver the most natural finish. Depending on the desired results, you may wish to undergo whitening treatment prior to the bonding in order to brighten your smile.

In some areas, it may be necessary to lightly roughen the surface of the natural tooth to help the resin adhere better to the teeth. The resin is then applied and carefully shaped and moulded to correct the imperfections and look like a natural tooth. A special UV light is then used to help harden the resin and the teeth are polished.

Because this treatment is relatively straight forward and requires no injections or anaesthetic, it can often be performed in just one session taking around 30 minutes per tooth, which means you can leave us with a brand new smile that you will love!

Benefits Of A Composite Bonding Same Day Smile Makeover

There are many great advantages to undergoing a smile makeover with our composite bonding artistry services. Here are just some of the many benefits;

  • Unlike some other treatments nothing needs making in a lab or sending away, everything is made and applied in your appointment, so you be done in just one session.
  • This treatment is in most cases completely painless with no need for anaesthetic.
  • It is extremely cost effective and tends to be one of the least expensive cosmetic treatments.
  • Because the original teeth are preserved and remain intact the treatment can be repeated with no damage to the teeth.
  • Although composite bonding doesn’t last as long as some long-term solutions, results can last from around 5-10 years if cared for properly.

It is worth noting that although composite bonding can be used to correct a wide range of imperfections it might not be suitable for everyone and is best suited to mild or minor cosmetic issues. If you are interested in the treatment, then it’s best to discuss it with your dentist to find out if you are a suitable candidate or if an alternative treatment such as tooth whitening, dental veneers or Invisalign would be a more effective, long term solution .

Are You Ready For A New Smile?

If you aren’t 100% happy with your teeth or are self-conscious about discolouration, gaps, chips or unevenness then composite bonding could be the perfect solution. Our highly skilled team of dental clinicians are on hand to deliver fast, pain free and effective same day smile makeovers that our patients love.

If you would like to find out more, discuss your options or arrange a free consultation then contact us at The Neem Dental Clinic, Harrow today and our team of friendly, knowledgeable experts will be happy to help.

DENTAL AIRFLOW

SO MUCH MORE THAN A SCALE AND POLISH

What is Airflow Polishing?

Airflow is a powerful dental hygiene treatment that dramatically cleans and polishes your teeth using a combination of jet water, air, and sodium bicarbonate.

How does Airflow polishing work?

Airflow’s nozzle with shoot out a high pressured and concentrated blast of water, air, and bicarbonate (usually a lemon flavour) at the surfaces of your teeth. Airflow is very effective at cleaning teeth and will also clean the hard to reach places (nooks and cranny’s), leaving you feeling very fresh.

The combination of the air, water, and bicarbonate has been proven to be effective at tackling tough stains and plaque, and you will be able to leave with much cleaner teeth than a normal hygiene visit.

What are the benefits of AirFlow ?

Airflow has plenty of benefits in comparison to a normal scale and polish.

First and foremost, it is much more effective at cleaning.

The jet is not only capable of polishing the surfaces of your teeth and removing plaque build-up, it can also reach up to 5mm into periodontal pockets for more efficient cleaning.

Using Airflow is also much quicker than regular methods of stain and plaque removal.

Airflow can actually help reduce the sensitivity of your teeth. This is due to the bicarbonate in the jet, which can fill any exposed dentine tubules and help re-mineralize teeth.

5 Reasons To Book Your Airflow Polishing

1. Effective cleaning: removes stains and plaque by shooting a high pressured blast of water, bicarbonate and air through its small nozzle.

2. Patient’s comfort: no more scraping tools digging into your gums, with this new cleaning method the treatment is painless, fast and above all non-invasive.

3. For sensitive teeth: the absence of direct contact, heat and vibration makes this treatment ideal for those patients who have sensitive teeth.

4. Fast cleaning: research has shown that the Airflow polishing method is three times faster than any traditional method and it also causes less damage to the teeth.

5. Pre-orthodontic treatment: the Airflow method is ideal to use before any orthodontic treatment at Neem Dental Clinic, as it cleans the tooth surfaces removing nearly 100 percent of bacteria and endotoxins making your teeth ready for any bonding procedure.

Wedding Day Smiles

Everyone wants to look their best on their wedding day. The very first thing people notice about you is your smile and your teeth. On your special day, make sure yous smile is the best it can be!

Wedding Day Planning

As part of the wedding process try to factor in your dental appointments. You will need to consider in the time taken to carry out the dental treatment. At the very least, we recommend that you visit the dental hygienist in the weeks before your wedding.

What options for treatment do you have?

Pre-wedding treatments depend on your smle goals how long you have before your wedding.

Get your teeth sparkly and clean for your wedding day

A simple visit to the dental hygienist can ensure your teeth are clean before your big day. This is a 30 minute appointment and can be carried out in the days leading to your wedding.

A deep polish

Have an air polish to remove any deep set stains. This is a 30 minute appointment and can be carried out in the days leading to your wedding.

Tooth whitening to improve the colour of your teeth

There are many tooth whitening options available to you. However, you should leave at least 6 weeks before your wedding to have this treatment carried out. That allows enough time to ensure you get a great result. See our tooth whitening page for more information.

Composite bonding

We can carry out minor tooth modifications with tooth coloured fillings to improve your smile. Again, we advise this is carried out a minimum of 6 weeks before your wedding. Longer, if you are combining with tooth whitening.

Dental Veneers

These are porcelain laminate shells that fit onto the front of your teeth. They require only very minimal preparation of your teeth. We recommend that this treatment is provided at least three months before your wedding day.

Smile Makeover

Many patients consider a smile makeover. This is not actually any one treatment, but a combination of one or more of the above treatments. The time taken to complete the treatment depends on which treatments you undergo.

Dentures in Harrow

If you need a top quality denture treatment at affordable prices then our state-of-the-art clinic in Harrow can help.

From missing teeth to a happy smile

If you have missing teeth, modern dentures offer a sophisticated and effective solution. Fitting comfortably in your mouth and performing just like your own teeth, dentures can really give you confidence in your smile.

Losing teeth as you age is not uncommon but we understand it can cause distress. There are several dental solutions to the problem of missing teeth including dentures, dental bridges and dental implants.

Dentures offer a budget-friendly option, and are particularly appropriate if you have a number of missing teeth, or when the use of bridges or implants is not recommended. Dentures also offer a non-invasive solution if you have a weak jaw or gums.

Partial or full dentures?

If you are only missing a proportion of your teeth, partial dentures, which are clipped onto existing healthy teeth, might be the right option for you. If you have a whole set of teeth missing on either jaw, your dentist might recommend complete dentures. These are comfortably supported by a plate in your upper jaw or by your gums on your lower jaw.

All modern dentures can be colour matched to your natural teeth and gums.

Regain lost confidence

Dentures offer impressive stability for talking and eating but because they are a removable solution and less secure than dental implants, they may intermittently loosen or slip out of place. A dental adhesive can often help hold your dentures more securely in position. Ask your dentist for more information.

DEEP TEETH CLEANING VS ROUTINE CLEANING

Do I need a deep teeth cleaning?

One of the most common scenarios we see are patients who haven’t been to the dentist in a while and are told they need a deep teeth cleaning. They don’t have any pain, which makes them skeptical of this diagnosis given the cost of deep cleaning teeth, and come to me for a second opinion.

Deep teeth cleanings are often misdiagnosed when a routine teeth cleaning is really all that is needed for the patient. Unfortunately, some dental clinics take a more aggressive approach when prescribing this treatment. To ease the patients’ mind, I tell them there are several signs deep cleaning treatment is needed. All of which we can show them during the appointment.

Before having that conversation, I think it’s important to understand the purpose of deep cleaning teeth.

What is deep cleaning teeth?

Deep cleaning teeth – also known as scaling and root planning, or non-surgical periodontal therapy – is the process of removing tartar that forms beneath the gum line to stop the progression of gum disease.

If left untreated, the accumulation of tartar (hardened plaque) can result in inflamed gums that break the seal between the tooth and healthy gum tissue. Thus, allowing the disease to migrate down the root and cause more inflammation. This inflammation is the first sign of gum disease – it’s called gingivitis.

At this stage, gum disease is reversible. However, it must be treated, which is where a deep teeth cleaning comes in. If you put off deep cleaning teeth for too long, the disease will progress and you will begin to lose bone around your teeth, eventually causing tooth loss. Once the disease progresses to this point (periodontitis), it is irreversible.

What’s the difference between deep cleaning teeth and a routine teeth cleaning?

A routine teeth cleaning is what most people experience when they visit the dentist clinic. It is very unlikely that someone who visits the dentist every six months for a routine cleaning will need a deep cleaning. Rather, it’s typically necessary when someone hasn’t been to the dentist for a teeth cleaning for many years or does not practice proper hygiene on a daily basis. There are many habits and behaviors that lead to rapid tartar buildup, and eventually gum disease, when tartar is ignored: sipping on sugary drinks throughout the day, forgetting to brush teeth and gums regularly, never flossing your teeth, and more.

Signs you need a deep teeth cleaning

Should you need a deep cleaning, it’s important that you get one, and soon. There are several telltale signs that you can look for to confirm this diagnosis – both at home and with your dentist. Signs you can look for at home include:

  1. Bleeding gums when you brush or floss Bleeding or swollen gums are one of the first signs of gum disease. This is your body’s way of trying to get rid of the disease, and is caused by a buildup of plaque along the gum line. You may also have sore gums, or gums that look red and puffy.
  2. Bad breathConsistently bad breath – not just in the mornings or after a meal – is another sign that you may need a deep cleaning. This is caused by the bacteria in your mouth that is actively destroying your bone.

Another sign to look for is tartar (or dental calculus) around the bottom front teeth. If you notice this, or have bad breath and/or bleeding gums, it’s best to make a dentist appointment to have this checked out. During your appointment, the dentist will be able to confirm your diagnosis. Signs they look for – which they will be able to show you – include:

  1. Periodontal pockets of 4mm or greaterIf you think back to your last dentist appointment, you may recall the hygienist spouting out a list of numbers. These are likely the measurements of your periodontal pockets, or the vertical space between the tooth and gum. Healthy gums have pockets that measure no more than 3 mm. A deep cleaning is needed when you have one or more pocket per quadrant that are 4mm or greater. At 5mm, the patient will be diagnosed with periodontitis, and at 6mm or 7mm with advanced periodontitis.
  2. Radiographic bone lossThe combination of periodontal pockets and tartar buildup will eventually begin to affect the bone and change its structure. The bone will become scalloped and uneven and bone volume will decrease. If you need a deep teeth cleaning, you will have bone loss that is visible on an x-ray. Your dentist will be able to show you on the x-ray where your bone is, and where it should be. At this point, the damage is irreversible. But it’s important to stop it before it gets worse.

If you have both periodontal pockets and bone loss, you need a deep cleaning. However, you may not have bad breath or gum bleeding. Not all symptoms are required for a definitive diagnosis. The two most important signs to look for are those that your dentist will look for.

If in doubt, get a second opinion and ask the dentist to show you the periodontal pockets and bone loss. This will be very easy for them to do and give you peace of mind knowing that your diagnosis is accurate.

If you’re unsure of whether or not you need a deep teeth cleaning, schedule an appointment with our dentist in Harrow, Middlesex. We’ll be happy to confirm your diagnosis and deep clean your teeth.

WHY REGULAR DENTAL CHECK UPS ARE SO IMPORTANT FOR HEALTHY TEETH

Are you amongst those individuals who have a busy life and fail to pay enough attention to your dental health? Brushing and flossing will keep your teeth clean and lessen the risks associated with oral infections and diseases. However, it is suggested to go for routine oral checkups and improve your oral health. Even if your mouth is clean and fresh, chances are you might not be able to spot out the cavities between the teeth. It is advised to see your private dentist in Harrow at least twice a year and have good oral health.

PREVENT STAINED TEETH AND GUM DISEASE

Seeing your dentist for dental check-ups regularly will help to prevent different gum diseases. If plaque accumulates in a significant amount, it may lead to inflammation and gum irritation. It helps to whiten teeth so that you can restore your brighter and whiter smile. If you consume tobacco or are addicted to smoking, you may develop stains on the teeth that affect your oral health and personality. However, you should see a dentist in order to get rid of stains.

ENHANCE THE OVERALL LIFE OF TEETH

Regular dental health check-up is extremely important to enhance the life of teeth. Obviously, you do not want to lose teeth and get them replaced with artificial ones. This may occur due to bad dental health and cleaning habits that make the teeth become loose and soft. You may talk to your dentist for strong and properly positioned teeth. Dentists may prescribe vitamins that should be consumed if your teeth require more nutrition.

IMPROVE YOUR DENTAL HEALTH AND HYGIENE

Dental hygiene is linked with your overall health condition and so, it is important to take proper care of your oral health and prevent diseases like heart disease and cancer. Though the exact link between heart disease and improper dental health is not clear, it is important to maintain good dental health and hygiene in order to decrease the risk of poor blood flow and strokes.

CLEAN MOUTH AND FRESH BREATH

Regular dental health check-ups will help you to maintain a clean mouth and fresh breath. This is possible when you brush and floss daily and it can be achieved with clean and healthy teeth and gums. It is advised to use a soft bristled tooth-brush to get rid of small food particles struck in between the teeth and ensure your gums are not damaged.

PREVENT DIFFERENT HEALTH PROBLEMS

When you visit your dentist for routine dental checkups, it gives him the chance to make out and diagnose probable health issues that might occur in future. He may suggest a suitable treatment that would help you to overcome your dental problems. Besides, he will also provide valuable tips and advice for improved your dental and overall health.

You can book your appointment at NEEM DENTAL CLINIC for regular dental check-up and serious oral problems that require immediate treatment. By taking proper care of your dental health, you can prevent various diseases and lead a better life.

Make Your Wedding More Special With Your Perfect Smile

THE PERFECT ADDITION TO ANY BEAUTIFUL BRIDE

A stunning smile on your wedding day is just as important as your wedding dress – it’s your most important accessory! It completes your look fantastically and you will be able to see how wonderful you looked on this big day for years to come.

Cosmetic dentistry can help to create a wonderful smile for your big day increasing your confidence and self-esteem. You will be able to smile confidently in every photograph and really focus on enjoying the day rather than covering up your smile with your hand when you laugh.

Cosmetic smile improvements can be created from any of the following treatments:

  • Hygienist stain removal treatments. This is a perfect procedure if you have essentially good teeth but simply suffer from staining from food and drink. Your concern can easily be rectified in a single appointment. This is an ideal visit to brighten your smile several days before your wedding.
  • Teeth whitening. This is a simple treatment often carried out at home with a special teeth whitening kit. This should be done about three weeks before the “big day” for ideal results.
  • Cosmetic veneers. This treatment can be used to a beautiful smile in a single appointment with bonding techniques using tooth-colored materials. Alternatively, a stunning smile makeover can be created with more cosmetically enhanced porcelain veneers. This type of treatment takes about 4 weeks, so could be considered as an option a month before the wedding.
  • Orthodontic teeth straightening. If you have a few months still to go you can opt for a more conservative approach using inconspicuous braces or aligners to straighten any crooked teeth or to close spaces between teeth. This treatment can take from 4-9 months and can help restore your smile for the big day.
  • Enamel and/or gum reshaping. Sometimes a simple conservative approach that entails reshaping of your gums and teeth can have a huge impact on the resulting smile. This treatment could take about half an hour and could be carried out in conjunction with the hygiene visit. This treatment could be carried out a week before your dream day.

We can customize your treatment plan to suit your specific needs in terms of time, budget and choices of treatment. Let us help make your big day more memorable with a great smile that you can show off to all.

Special Wedding Packages are available for the bride & groom or mother & bride. Please call us for more information.

“You can now enjoy your special day, and have amazing photos to cherish,  rather than covering up your smile.”

What is Air-Flow?

Air-Flow is a professional stain removal system that tackles stubborn stains, which are difficult to remove with normal teeth whitening methods.

Is it right for me?

Air-Flow treatment is for anyone looking for a brighter, whiter smile. From light staining to more severe stains; Air-Flow significantly improves tooth brightness, giving you a noticeably, sparkling, healthy mouth, in an instant.

How does it work?

Using a special powder, air, and a gentle jet stream of water; Air-Flow gently and painlessly removes surface stains caused by tobacco, food and drink. In just one appointment, you will immediately see and feel the difference.

What are the causes of teeth staining?

Typically, teeth stains affect the surface of the teeth and once severe, cannot always be removed with brushing alone. These surface stains can be caused by smoking, coffee, tea, red wine and eating foods that contain colourants. Air-Flow removes surface stains easily, resulting in a brighter, whiter smile.  Sometimes, discolouration occurs on a deeper level. This can result from the use of certain medications, or a genetic susceptibility to darker teeth. A combination of teeth whitening and Air-Flow treatment provides dramatic results; resulting in a smile which can be several shades lighter.
