Tooth loss due to trauma has a different treatment approach in younger children who have lost their primary teeth than older children and adults with injury to their permanent teeth. If a permanent tooth is entirely knocked out, try to rinse it off gently, re-implant it as soon as possible, and call emergency dental care. If getting back it in place is not possible, preserve it in milk or even water and seek a dental emergency clinic.
